Colour: Golden to silver grey. The oak changes in time from a golden colour, to a blotchy, darker, 'stained' look, & finally to a silver grey, if in contact with sun & daylight. This cycle may take 4 - 10 months, depending on sunlight & location of the blocks (whether inside or out) You can plane or sand the surface back to it's original colour if you wish.
Description: This new oak is unseasoned (means it's been freshly cut in the last 6 months) and untreated. The oak is normally square edged on most faces, although It can also have splits, knots or blemishes which can delevelop over the years as it dries out. (Character !)
Comment: Suitable for plinths, seats, bases for lamps, furniture (tables, benches and shelving). Just use your imagination ! See 'project photos' and examples below of these cubes in use.
Weight: Can be heavy to lift, especially the 300mm x 300mm x 330mm. Approx 25 - 30kg.
Cutting: Quite hard. You'll need a circular saw / chainsaw / powered saw to cut these oak cubes.
Attaching / Fixing: Timberlok will screw through these without a pilot hole, only if the drill is powerful.
